Laser Cutting Heads

Laser cutting heads are the components that direct and focus the laser beam during metal cutting. Each laser head combines several main parts, including the collimation lens, focusing lens, protective windows, nozzles, and cooling system. Together, these elements ensure that the laser beam is precisely shaped and stable, while also protecting the optics from dust, heat, and spatter. They are widely used in industries that require accurate and efficient processing of metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and copper.

From thin sheet cutting in consumer products to heavy-duty applications in automotive, medical devices, construction machinery, and lithium batteries, laser cutting heads are widely used in modern manufacturing. OSPRI offers a wide range of laser cutting heads to match different power levels and applications, from 2D flat sheet cutting and tube processing to 3D contouring and robotic integration.

Laser cutting heads are suitable for a wide range of metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and galvanized sheet.

A laser cutting head is built from several critical parts that work together to ensure stable and precise performance:

  • Optical system: collimation and focusing lenses that shape and direct the laser beam.
  • Protective lenses: collimation, focusing, and cutting protection windows that shield the optics from vapor, dust, and spatter.
  • Cooling system: maintains the proper temperature of the lenses, nozzles, and housing to prevent thermal damage.
  • Assist gas system: uses high-pressure gases (oxygen, nitrogen, or air) to remove molten material and improve edge quality.

Yes. OSPRI laser cutting heads support QBH, QD, Q+, and LOE interfaces, and can be integrated with most major laser sources, including IPG, TRUMPF, RAYCUS, and MAXPHOTONICS. They also support pulse, analog, and EtherCAT communication, making them compatible with various CNC systems.

Each new laser cutting head is supplied with the essential consumables required for the initial setup. Additional consumables can be selected based on the user’s processing requirements and applications.

Orders for standard products in stock can be shipped within 1–2 working days. Non-stock items typically require 3–5 working days. Lead times for customized products may vary depending on specifications.

We recommend using original accessories only. Third-party components may not meet the required tolerances, which can cause gas leakage, unstable cutting performance, or even damage to the head. Non-original protective lenses, seals, and ceramic rings can also affect optical alignment, increase thermal drift, and reduce overall reliability.
