Laser Cutting Heads for Lithium Battery
Laser processing heads for battery production

Lithium battery manufacturing uses laser cutting for battery shells, cell cover plates, tabs and busbars, and other precision parts. Because these components are often made from thin-gauge aluminum, copper, and stainless steel, the cutting process must hold tight tolerances, keep the heat-affected zone (HAZ) small, and leave clean edges.
For thin-gauge aluminum, copper, and stainless parts, fiber laser processing strikes the balance between precision, throughput, and a small heat-affected zone to protect edge quality. It is non-contact, runs at high speed, and concentrates heat in a small area, so parts come off the line with burr-free, spatter-free edges and a lower risk of micro short circuits. By integrating with CAD/CAM programming and automated cutting lines, the cutting workflow maintains efficient, large-scale standardized production across multiple specifications and advances intelligent, high-efficiency battery manufacturing.
Requirements are even stricter when working with copper foil, aluminum foil, and battery casings, where edge quality and heat control are critical. Our laser cutting heads pair high-precision focusing optics with fast-response drive control to create ultra-fine kerfs at high speed while keeping the HAZ contained. This limits edge carbonization and deformation and helps avoid short-circuit risks. Thanks to high repeatability and autofocus, the heads suit battery trays, module housings, and cell brackets, enabling precise, stable production that meets the new-energy sector’s manufacturing standards.
